Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Twiz Kids.
What is Twiz Kids?+
Twiz Kids is a learning app for primary school children, designed to make spelling and times tables practice genuinely enjoyable. Parents set up their child's words or tables in a couple of minutes; children practise through short, varied games. You see progress on one simple page.
What age is it for?+
Twiz Kids is aimed at children roughly aged 5–11 (Years 1–6 in England). Spelling lists and times tables difficulty are set by you, so it scales with whatever your child is working on.
How do I get started?+
Sign in with your Google account, add your child (name, date of birth, school), then add this week's spelling words — by typing, speaking, or photographing their list. Set their times tables in one tap. That's it.
Do I need to pay?+
Twiz Kids is currently free to use. We may introduce optional paid features in the future, but core functionality will always be accessible.
What devices does it work on?+
Twiz Kids works on any modern browser — phone, tablet, or desktop. For the best experience on mobile, add it to your home screen (tap Share → Add to Home Screen on iOS, or use the install prompt on Android).
Does my child need their own account?+
No — you can use Twiz Kids entirely through your own account and hand the device to your child for their session. If you'd prefer your child to have their own login, you can invite them via their Gmail address from the Children page.
Can more than one parent or carer use it?+
Yes. From the Children page, tap Invite on any child card and enter the other adult's email. They'll receive a link and can sign in with their own Google account. Both adults see the same progress and can add spelling words or adjust settings.
How does the app know what my child finds hard?+
The app tracks which words or multiplication facts your child gets right or wrong, and how many attempts each takes. Over time it weights practice sessions towards the things they're finding difficult.
Is my child's data safe?+
Yes. We store only the information needed to run the app: your child's name, date of birth, school, spelling lists, and practice results. We don't sell data, show ads, or share anything with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What is 'training wheels mode'?+
Training wheels mode is the default for new children. It gives extra help during games — such as letter-by-letter feedback after a wrong answer, and dimmed keys for letters not in the current word. You can turn it off from the child's profile once they're confident.
How do spelling test days work?+
You set a test day (Monday–Friday) for each child. After that day, Twiz Kids automatically shows next week's words so your child can start practising ahead of time.
Can I use it for multiple children?+
Yes — you can add as many children as you like. Each child has their own profile, word lists, and progress.
